The philosophy of Stewardship offers a means of giving glory and praise to our Creator. It allows us to root our lives in the firm belief of the primacy of God and to recognize the loving creator as the source of all that we have and all that we are. As members of the catholic family of OLPH we are called to be greater stewards of the Time, Talent and Treasure entrusted to us. Our parish is moving towards full stewardship (in compliance with the archdiocesan mandate). Persons who desire to become stewards can register with the PSRs, after which you will be advised as to how best you can become an OLPH Steward.

Our Vicariate has lost a few priests in recent times: Fr Reddy of South Oropouche; Fr. Hugh from Penal has retired on health reasons; Fr. Peter of Mon Repos and Fr Gregory of Rio Claro have been re-assigned to the north. There will be another transfer from one of our parishes at the end of the year. The Pro Cathedral once again assumes responsibility for the wider vicariate. This week, we will welcome a new Priest Fr. Joseph Marie who will spend three to six months at OLPH before he is assigned to one of the parishes.
This weekend our catechists will be presented with a special message (booklet) from Pope Francis before their Luncheon. We will have a brief reflection at the 10.00am Mass. Next Sunday is catechetical Sunday in Penal at 9.00am mass.
